The City calls Old Town the cultural, historic, commercial and tourism center of Scottsdale. Experience Scottsdale describes nine walkable neighborhoods of shops, restaurants, galleries, nightclubs, museums and historic sites. Guests who book for this want walkability and a short itinerary.
Experience Scottsdale markets the area as a golf destination with more than 200 courses in the wider region and a PGA Tour stop at TPC Scottsdale. Golf groups care about layout, storage, parking and an exact arrival plan.
The City documents more than 30,500 acres and over 230 miles of trails, open sunrise to sunset at no charge, with named trailheads such as Gateway, Brown's Ranch and Tom's Thumb. These guests want early starts, shade, water and gear space.

The City states that every property offered for fewer than 30 days needs an annual Scottsdale license, with a state TPT license first, neighbor notice, an insurance attestation, County registration and a posted notice. ADOR treats stays under 30 days as transient lodging subject to TPT. This is the stay type the event calendar and trip themes above mostly describe.

Longer stays fall outside the City's under-30-day license definition and ADOR describes different tax treatment for residential rentals of 30 or more consecutive days. Whether a home should take them depends on its layout, workspace, connectivity and, above all, whether the governing documents allow it. Confirm with the City, ADOR and your HOA before you change the rule.
