How is the Smart Home Program different from installing a few smart-home devices? The Smart Home Program, formerly the Utility Saver Program, connects compatible climate, access and monitoring controls to the property's reservation and operating workflow through Casago's smart home platform. The owner and team agree on vacant-home settings, arrival comfort, access roles, device placement, owner overrides and response procedures. It is not a universal savings promise or a substitute for HVAC, lock or connectivity diligence.

What is included

What this program brings into your property's operation.

Climate planning

Reservation context can inform approved vacant-home and arrival settings for compatible HVAC controls.

  • HVAC, thermostat wiring, zones and Wi-Fi compatibility review
  • Owner-approved vacant and arrival comfort parameters
  • Guest-control and owner-override discussion
  • Relevant device signals for operating review

Access planning

Guest, service and owner access can be considered as distinct roles for a compatible connected lock.

  • Exterior-door, lock and connectivity review
  • Reservation-aware guest credentials when configured
  • Scheduled vendor and housekeeping access consideration
  • Separate owner-control discussion

Monitoring planning

The program can use decibel and other property signals that can inform an operating review.

  • Decibel measurement without audio recording
  • Placement, notice, rules, power and Wi-Fi review
  • Signal review in reservation and house-rule context
  • Property-specific communication and escalation plan

What changes for the owner

Connected devices become one operating system around guest readiness and owner control.

One plan across devices

Climate, access and monitoring, decided together.

Climate, access and monitoring decisions can be organized around the same guest and owner operating plan, so connected devices can be considered as one operating system around guest readiness and owner control.

Configured for the home

Settings, roles and alerts follow your equipment.

Settings, roles and alert handling are established around actual equipment and owner preferences. Owner preferences and personal-use needs are part of the property setup.

Reviewed before launch

Compatibility comes before a savings statement.

Compatibility and installation needs are evaluated before a connected workflow is confirmed. Compatibility and configuration come before a savings statement, an installation promise or a universal timing rule.

How the program takes shape

The operating sequence for your home.

This is the owner-facing sequence for reviewing the property, confirming the plan and revisiting it as the home's needs change.

  1. Step 1

Casago reviews HVAC, thermostat wiring, lock and door fit, device placement, Wi-Fi, owner-use needs and relevant house or community rules.

  2. Step 2

The owner and team document approved vacant-home, arrival, access, monitoring and communication settings for the individual property.

  3. Step 3

For eligible, installed equipment, confirmed reservations can inform the configured climate preparation, access and related smart-home routines.

  4. Step 4

The operating team reviews relevant connected-device signals and coordinates the appropriate response in the context of the stay and property plan.

  5. Step 5

Settings and scope are revisited as equipment, owner use, seasonal conditions or property requirements change.

What to validate for your home

What we review, and what to bring.

What the property review covers

  • HVAC type, wiring, zones, Wi-Fi and climate preferences
  • Door, lock fit, guest, service and owner access roles, and arrival workflow
  • Monitoring placement, notices, house rules and escalation approach
  • Current equipment, installation, scope, fee and term confirmation

Bring these answers to your property-plan conversation

  • Provide HVAC, thermostat, door-lock, monitoring and Wi-Fi details for the home.
  • Set priorities for guest arrival, vacant periods, owner stays, vendor access and house rules.
  • Review placement and notice requirements for any monitoring device; do not rely on a blanket privacy-compliance claim.
  • Ask for current scope, equipment, installation, fees and terms after the compatibility review.
Pricing and eligibility: current smart-home scope and quote required. Your property proposal confirms compatible equipment, installation needs, operating scope, and current costs and terms for your home, along with eligibility, equipment and agreement terms.

Where it matters most

Hot summers, cold snaps and vacant weeks.

Vacant-home climate settings and reservation-aware access carry the most weight where summers run hot, winters bring freeze risk, or the home sits empty between stays.

Questions owners ask about the Smart Home Program

What does the Smart Home Program cost?

Current equipment, installation, program scope, and cost are confirmed in the property proposal for your home.

Will every property reduce utility use by the same amount?

No. The historical savings ranges in collateral are not a guarantee or forecast. Outcomes vary with equipment condition, configuration, weather, utility rates, property condition, stays, guest behavior, and the approved operating plan.

Can an owner set preferences and use the home personally?

Owner preferences and personal-use needs are part of the property setup. The team should confirm the specific climate, access, and alert controls that the compatible equipment can support for the home.

Can pool automation be part of the smart-home plan?

Eligible connected pool automation may be reviewed separately. Controller model, Wi-Fi, cloud access, heater, valves, service plan, guest heating terms, and current program scope must be confirmed for the property.
