What you need before you start
Gather your own numbers first. Quotes and service estimates for the improvement, your owner statement, and your calendar. Leave anything you do not know blank; a blank counts as zero and the result will show it.

The arithmetic, in words
- Annual contribution before ongoing cost. Multiply C by N.
- Annual contribution after ongoing cost. Take the first result and subtract B.
- Simple payback, in years. Divide A by the second result. If the second result is zero or negative, there is no positive payback under the figures you entered, and the worksheet stops there.

- The entered incremental contribution already accounts for variable costs associated with the eligible nights.
- Eligible booked nights are a planning assumption capped at 366, not a rate, demand, occupancy or booking forecast.
- This simple calculation is educational and is not a recommendation, revenue forecast or performance guarantee.
